About Book

This book advocates for an ethnographic approach to evaluating peacebuilding efforts in transitional states. It critiques the reliance on externally imposed measures of success and instead highlights the importance of local perspectives in assessing peacebuilding interventions. Drawing from fieldwork in Sierra Leone, the book argues that peace, justice, and development are locally constructed concepts and should guide evaluation frameworks.
